Disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration in Colombia: Lost human rights opportunities for ex-combatants with disabilities

This article examines whether and how the circumstances of Colombian ex-combatants with disabilities were recognized in disarmament, demobilization, reintegration (DDR) processes period following adoption 2016 peace agreement. Our results suggest severe procedural substantive shortcomings during drafting agreement implementation DDR that exacerbated exclusion from available opportunities for their social, economic, political reintegration. We conclude a better understanding disabling impact conflict experiences impairment disability could have mitigated such neglect.
